Wake Up, You’ve Got It SO Good…

Gotta question for you…

What ‘lenses’ do you look through to see the world around you?

Do they make the world look like an exciting, happy and prosperous place?

Or do they make you feel scared, worried or stressed?

Do you feel like the world is dangerous, everyone is out for themselves and is trying to take away your freedom, money and happiness?

For most people their view is almost always the latter…

They go through their life wearing what I call ‘Scarcity Lenses’…

They’re always focused on finding the negative, something wrong in every situation.

What’s dangerous about this is that it’s so seated in our collective consciousness, it’s perceived as normal to be this way…

To think the world sucks along with most people in it…

To be a victim and complain to others…

The moment you put a grin on your face and say “life’s pretty good hey?”, for no reason other than you’re alive and well, most will think you’ve either joined some nutter cult, you’re cooked on drugs or you’ve just lost the plot…

But you see, your mindset is literally creating your reality.

Think small, shitty thoughts and you’ll live a small, shitty life.

Or…

Think big, exciting thoughts and you’ll live a big, exciting life.

And its all up to you.

What I want to help you to do right here is help you to take off your ‘Scarcity Lenses’ and get rid of them for good…

And replace ‘em with a fresh pair of what I call ‘Abundance Lenses’, and keep them on for as long as you’re taking in oxygen on this planet…

Life’s just more exciting, enjoyable and less stressful this way.

And this is actually incredibly easy to do, and it doesn’t involve changing anything other than what you decide to focus on…

So here’s how you start doing it:

Every morning, within 10 minutes of waking, think of 3 things that you have access to that saves you hours of time or massive amounts of energy, and spend 30 seconds or so appreciating having those things…

For example:

  • I am grateful that I have clean, running water (both hot and cold) at the turn of a tap whenever I need it.
  • I am grateful that I have access to the biggest library in the history of the world at my fingertips, with everything categorized and easy to sort through (the internet).
  • I am grateful that I can buy clothes for a few dollars and don’t have to even think about making them myself.

To jog your brain, try comparing today to another period in time, and thinking of all the benefits we have available to us now compared to if we were living back then…

The point is to really appreciate the time freedom we now have because of how easily and effectively our basic needs are met and we have so much time available to us to go after growth, education and designing an awesome life…

All we have to do is do it…

In order to actually appreciate these things, simply reflect on how much more difficult your life would be if this weren’t the case…

If you had to go and retrieve clean drinking water every day…

If you had to travel to and search big libraries full of information that comes nowhere close to the quality of information you can find online in seconds…

If you were responsible for making your own clothing…

You can (and should) appreciate pretty much everything that most people are blind to while they’re wearing their ‘Scarcity Lenses’:

  • Smartphones
  • Cars
  • Air travel
  • 24/7 gyms
  • HD cameras in our phones
  • Contraception
  • Antibiotics
  • The postal service

…. the list is endless.

To start with, try sitting back right now for a couple of minutes and think of three things about your life that really makes things easier, and appreciate them…

Then notice how you feel afterwards.

It sounds so simple, but practicing gratitude this way makes you feel really good, and the more you do it, the better you feel and the happier and more exciting your life becomes…

Make it a habit to do this every day, in the morning within 10 minutes of waking.

And you’ll start to notice that you’re feeling more and more energized and excited about going through the day…

All the best,
